Our journey to zero.
Freshfield is Certified Plastic Negative but we know this isn't enough to help eliminate plastic waste. We are working to have Freshfield switched to bio-based compostable packaging by the end of 2022. In the meantime, we've provided some advice below on how to properly dispose of your Freshfield packaging.
How to recycle our products
-
HDPE
Most of our products use HDPE packaging. HDPE is one of the easiest plastic polymers to recycle and is accepted by most recycling facilities worldwide.
To recycle: Remove and discard label. Ensure inside of container is clean. Add packaging to your regular recycling pickup or take to your nearest recycling facility.
-
PET
Our Vegan Omega 3 and Black Seed Oil Capsules use PET bottles. PET is the plastic also used for water and pop bottles. Next to HDPE, it is the most recyclable plastic in use today.
To recycle: Remove and discard label. Ensure inside of container is clean. Add packaging to your regular recycling pickup or take to your nearest recycling facility.
-
Glass
Black Seed Oil and B-12 Complex Drops are packaged in glass to preserve the quality of the liquid inside.
To recycle: Remove and discard label. Ensure inside of container is clean. Add packaging to your regular recycling pickup or take to your nearest recycling facility.

Next steps: Compostables
We will soon be introducing compostable refill packs to our product line. These pouches are made with bio-based PLA and are certified to compost in an industrial composting facility. We searched for home compostable packaging but this is currently not available for food products and supplements. These will eventually compost in a home composting environment but it will just take longer than usual.
We will also be introducing compostable bottles to our product line starting with Vegan Omega 3.
